THE AGE OF SOFT TYRANNY—Statement Sheet

HOW THE 17TH AMENDMENT GUTTED THE               US CONSTITUTION

OREGON CONVENTION OF THE COUNTIES

By Darrell Gulstrom DTM

The Age of Soft Tyranny and How the 17th Amendment Gutted the US Constitution and the Convention of the Counties. I will try to explain the history behind the 17th Amendment and why it got enacted.

I will show you how the 17th Amendment lead to our present day Soft Tyranny.

I will go through the history of the President’s Cabinet and how it has evolved to the current size. I will show the organizational charts of the different Cabinets.

The President appoints over 3000 Directors and Agency Heads. The Executive Branch controls over $2.5 Trillions of the Federal Budget. He also has over 500,000 employees, whom he can control through public unions.

I am sure this is what the Founding Father’s thought of when they put Article V.

17th Amendment allowed the Federal Government to erode State’s rights. We can see what has become a Soft Tyrannical Government.

Not only has the 17th Amendment destroyed States rights but the people’s rights as well as stated in the 10th Amendment. Theoretically the people could have gone through the State Senate to get laws passed. Weather that was used is unknown.

Can we ever get the 17th Amendment changed? Some would say that that is undemocratic. Truth is we were a Republic as Ben Franklin said. Unfortunately, the 17th Amendment gutted the Republic as well. The Progressive Presidents like Teddy Roosevelt, William Howard Taft and Woodrow Wilson knew what they were doing. Franklin D. Roosevelt reinforced their actions by stacking the Supreme Court.

This presentation is 45 minutes. If you would like me to come to your group please call me.

A proposed Referendum--Convention of the Counites--Oregon Constitution

REFERENDUM FOR THE PEOPLE OF OREGON, A CONSTITIONAL AMENDMENT

CONVENTION OF THE COUNTIES—

OREGON CONSTITUTION

The Convention of the Counties is the way we can push back on the one party rule we have in Oregon and even the playing field. It mirrors Article V in the U.S. Constitution, though Article V has never been used.
First; if 2/3s, or 24, of the County Commissioner Boards call for a convention, one County Commissioner per County will be sent to the convention to represent that county. They can, pass new laws, repeal laws passed by the legislature i.e. they can repeal the minimum wage bill, they can propose an amendment like Impeaching the Governor or Secretary of State and Treasurer. This would override the Emergency Clause Rule.
Second; After they pass a referendum, it would be referred back to the county for a popular vote. If 75% or 27 counties approve it becomes law. The Governor cannot veto.
I am not a novice nor am I naïve. I know we will have a huge push back, from the Democrats and we will need to be prepared for that. I want to make this measure bullet proof. So please give me feedback.
Over the next 6 months I will be going to all the county Commissioner Boards that are dominated Republican or have at least one Republican on the Board. I will also visit all Republican County Central Committees around this state and go to every single conservative group I can talk to.
If you would like me to come and speak to your group or have feedback please share with me.
